5 days a week - 12th BPS

Now 3 Saturdays OFF for PSB Bankers

11th BPS Latest Updates – the recent meeting between the IBA and Banker’s Union was concluded on 31st Oct. The outcome of the meeting was shared by AIBEA and informed that the IBA was agreed on three Saturdays off rather than 5 days a week for the bankers. The fifth Saturday of the month will be a OFF day for the Public Sector Bankers. The proposal for the same has been sent to government for approval.

The demand of 5 days banking for the Public Sector Bankers were not accepted, but the IBA or Government must update the specific reason for rejecting it. Almost all the organizations including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) are enjoying the 5 days and week. Government is promoting the Digital Banking and up to certain level it is accepted also. In my view the banker unions has not raised the demand of the 5 days banking strongly, otherwise it would have been accepted.
