UP Government Cancels All allowances For Government Employees

UP Government has  cancelled all allowances for government employees for one year to save Rs 1500 crore – In Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government has banned all kinds of allowances for government employees due to the COVID-19 for a year. Apart from employees, these allowances were also paid to the teachers. This step of the government will save about Rs 1500 crore in the whole year.

State’s Additional Chief Secretary Finance Sanjeev Mittal said that the state cabinet took a decision in this regard, after which a circular was sent on Monday. After this, orders in this regard have been issued on Tuesday. The Corona epidemic has had a huge impact on the government’s revenue, due to which this decision has been taken.

Four different orders issued

The official said that four separate orders have been issued by the government to stop the allowances. One of these allowances was available for maintenance of PF account. The government has banned the dearness allowance and dearness relief allowance that was available to all employees, teachers and pensioners from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. By stopping this allowance alone, the government will save a total of Rs 10,500 crore.

Apart from this, officers like Joint Secretary and Special Secretary used to get a promotional allowance, which was given to increase e-governance in all departments. Now this allowance has also been banned in the whole secretariat.

Also Urban Allowance (CCA), Secretariat Allowance; CB-CID, Anti-Corruption Organization, Bureau of Economic Offenses, Vigilance Department, Security and Special Investigation Bureau, Special Allowance, Research Allowance to Junior Engineers, Research Allowance have been banned. Apart from this, the design allowance and order allowance received in Public Works Department, Irrigation Department and Notification Department have also been banned.
