Syllabus Common Written Exam (CWE) For Banks

Common Written exam i.e. CWE will conduct written test for Recruitment to various Nationalised Bank. Written test will be of same type, as in practice now by various banks.

Each candidate will have to secure a minimum standardized score in each of the tests to qualify in the written examination and to be considered for vacancies in the participating banks.

The cut-off points will be decided based on the average (Average – ¼ Standard Deviation for General category candidates and Average – ¾ Standard Deviation for Reserved Category candidates).

Penalty For Wrong Question

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Test. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.

If the total of the penalty for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer, i.e. if fraction exceeds by 0.50 or more, it will be rounded off to next higher integer.

If for any question a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as wrong even if one of the given answers happens to be right and there will be the same penalty of 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question deducted as penalty.

If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

  • Please sir tell me the meaning of this:-

"The cut-off points will be decided based on the average (Average – ¼ Standard Deviation for General category candidates and Average – ¾ Standard Deviation for Reserved Category candidates)."

which category students will get the benefit of this clause like Reserved category candidates have more benefit or General Category candidates

  • sir in ibps pos online apply what are mean of professional qualification and others what will be filled

  • Please sir tell me the meaning of this:-

"The cut-off points will be decided based on the average (Average – ¼ Standard Deviation for General category candidates and Average – ¾ Standard Deviation for Reserved Category candidates)."

i mean what criteria is this???

    • It means the cutoff for Common Written exam will be calculated like :
a.) Sum total of all the marks divided by Total number of candidates in each section of test i.e. average, this average will subtract from Individual candidates marks which will be calculated as Standard deviation
b.) Now average of all the scores - i/4 of Individual average i.e. Standard deviation will be the final score of individual in General category

Hence a candidates has to score equally good i.e. above average in each section in order to keep himself high on merit. If your marks will be just near to average cutoff in each section and Highest marks in that section will go up and so the difference between Avg - 1/4 of Deviation..
