DEARNESS ALLOWANCES FOR CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES FOR MONTH OF JAN TO JULY 2013

Central Government has increased the Dearness Allowances for it’s employees with increase of 8% To 80% from 01 Jan 2013. This hike would benefited around 50 lakh employees and 30 lakh pensioners of the central government.

The Pensioners will be entitled to Arrears on their pension.

Increase in DA will impose an additional annual burden of Rs 8,629.20 crore on GOI. In Practice –  DA is merged with basic pay when it breaches the 50 per cent cap. This helps employees get higher allowances as they are paid as proportion of the basic pay. Based on this fact Central Government Employees are shouting for early set up of 7th Pay Commission.
