CTET Syllabus,Pattern and Selection Procedure

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi hold the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for recruitment of Teachers. The CTET examination will be of objective type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ’s) without any negative marking.

CTET conducts for 2 papers, they are paper I and Paper II.

Paper I  for classes I to V.

1.Child Development and Pedagogy:30 MCQs:30 Marks

2. Language I:30 MCQs:30 Marks

3.Language II:30 MCQs:30 Marks
    
4.Mathematics:30 MCQs:30 Marks

5. Environmental Studies:30 MCQs:30 Marks
        
Total:150 MCQs:150 Marks

Paper II for classes VI to VIII.

1Child Development and Pedagogy (compulsory):30 MCQs:30 Marks

2. Language I (compulsory):30 MCQs:30 Marks
    
3Language II (compulsory):30 MCQs:30 Marks
    
(a)    For Mathematics and Science teacher: Mathematics and Science60 MCQs:60 Marks

(b)   For Social Studies/Social Science teacher: Social Science:60 MCQs:60 Marks

(c)    For any other teacher – either (a) or (b)
    
Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
